THE UPPER ROOM GROUP PRESENTS…..
The Last Supper
Who We Are
The Upper Room Group is a Christian ministry dedicated to presenting the person and lordship of Jesus Christ through the dramatic rendering of
The Last Supper . We are a multi-denominational group that has been ministering to churches throughout the Western Pennsylvania area since 1978.
We come to local churches and other settings with a full cast, support personnel, props and costumes to portray the last supper Jesus ate with His disciples. The visual depictions are stunning, the narrative of each disciple is historical and thought-provoking and the anointing of the Spirit is evident.
What We Believe
We believe in the universal appeal of the portrayal of the Last Supper as both an historical and spiritual event. We also believe that this presentation will reach both the churched and the unchurched and can be an instrument of revival and renewal in the local church.
We have strived to remain as accurate and faithful as possible to the Scriptural accounts of the lives and events surrounding those involved in the original Last Supper.
Finally, We believe in salvation that only comes through the blood of Jesus Christ. That Jesus died for all, was raised from the dead, sits at the right hand of God in power and victory and will return for His Church in glory.
Production Information
We require an open area, either in the sanctuary, social hall or basement of the church to erect our set. A stage with a curtain is ideal. The area required is 22-24 feet wide by 10-12 feet deep by 7-8 feet high.
We also need someone to open the church at least two hours before the start of the presentation.
As an option to the church, we offer communion to the congregation at the end of the presentation. The method generally used is called "intinction." Each individual approaches the Last Supper table and breaks off a piece of bread that the person portraying Jesus is holding. The person then dips the tip of the bread in the chalice (we use grape juice) on the table. We feel this involves the congregation more in the ministry and further adds to its effectiveness. Should you choose to offer communion, we will bring all the necessary elements involved.sual depictions are stunning, the narrative
of each disciple is historical and thought-provoking and the anointing of the Spirit is evident.
